RRC 2011-12 Semifinals – draw

At the RRC Board meeting home teams for semifinals were drawn.

After a lot of mixing and spining of crumpled pieces of paper in the cup, Marko Kapor drew the winner of the match 31 (RK Nada Split – RK Ljubljana) to host the semi-final against the winner of the match 34 (Esztergomi Vitézek RSE – RC Donau Wien). After that thrilling moment, Jure Makhota pulled out a crumpled piece of paper with the number 32 from the cup and thus determined that the winner of the match 32 (RK Pobednik Belgrade – Battai Bulldogok RC) will be the host of the second semi-final against the winner of the match 33 (RK Zagreb – RK Čelik Zenica).
All the matches of quarter finals, except the match Nada – Ljubljana should be played at 17th and the 18th March, and the date of the match Nada – Ljubljana will be determined after synchronization with the match of the Slovenian national team in the European Nations Cup.

Quarterfinal and semifinal draw is available in Match center at Fixtures and Results (Play-Offs) section.

Thrilling finish of pool phase

Only a couple of exciting matches in the pool phase of 2011-12 RRC season remained. Every remaining match is to decide on which clubs continue to compete in the RRC playoffs scheduled for March and May of 2012.

In Zenica, RK Rudar and Battai Bulldogok RC will decide in “mutual collision”, the club that will be runner-up in the Pool A, where RK Nada already secured first place. Runner up in the Pool A will be safe in quarterfinals, but for 3rd placed team this will most likely be the end of this season.

City of Zagreb on this Saturday will see double program and a decisive match between RK Zagreb and RC Donau at the end of next week.
This Saturday on Rudeš pitch, RK Zagreb will seek to provide a chance to fight for first place in the Pool B against Donau next week and deny extension of quarterfinal hopes for KARC. By winning this game KARC are likely to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
At the same time, near the Sava river, Esztergomi Vitezek will look for a bonus point in the match against HARK Mladost to secure first place in the Pool C and privileged place in RRC playoffs.
