Score Statistics 22.11.2011

Almost all pool games are completed – there are some big changes at list of top scorers…

Last year top scorer Ivica Rubelj lost primacy from Milan Orlović from RK Pobednik Mozzart Beograd who scored five tries in one game. Kapić from RK Čelik fell down on sixth place because Olujić and Ursić from RK Nada Split scored some big points and Beke from KARC is keeping good pace in scoring. Near top of the list there is also Lassy from RC Donau Wien sharing sixth place with Kapić.

Autmn break for RRC, but rugby goes on…

During ongoing autmn break for RRC lots of stuff in world of rugby has hapened.

New Zealand All Blacks are the Rugby World Cup winners again after 24 years! Here in Croatia we were able to follow RWC live on national sports TV (Sportska televizija) and we saw lot of great live rugby. Rumors say that negotiations are underway that the same TV station will show some of the 6 Nations Rugby matches, maybe some test matches, and who knows what else

National teams of RRC participants are at full speed preparing for the upcoming ENC matches. Some matches have been played (Bosnia and Herzegovina – Slovakia and Austria Israel) with varying levels of success of “our teams. Congratulations to Bosnia and Herzegovina national team on winning against Slovakia and progression to a higher ENC group.

Here comes the autumn break…

During September and the beggining of October RRC Rounds I to III are almost completed (all results and Match Reports are available in Match Results and Fixtures and Results sections). Only two matches in Pool B are posponed to November (KARC – RC Donau Wien to 12.11.2011 and RK Zagreb – KARC to 26.11.2011). Because of National teams competeing in ENC during October and November RRC “will take a break” untill 12.11.2011 when next RRC match KARC – RC Donau Wien at Kecskemet, Hungary is scheduled.

On the list of scorers there are 60 players who have scored points. Last year top scorer Ivica Rubelj is at the top with 27 points and Kapić from RK Čelik with 19 points, Suljić from RK Ljubljana with 17 points, and Beke from KARC and Kušić from KBRK with 15 points are following.

One third of pool games are completed – list of top scorers is taking shape…

With ten matches allready played list of scorers is taking shape. Last year top scorer Ivica Rubelj took the lead again with 27 points (all scored by boot). Kapić from RK Čelik with 19 points, Suljić from RK Ljubljana with 17 points, and Beke from KARC and Kušić from KBRK with 15 points are following.

Introducing gas.hu Battai Bulldogok RC

As all are looking forward to Saturday’s RRC match between four time RRC champion RK Nada and Hungarian national champion gas.hu Battai Bulldogok RC, here are some facts and figures alongside with impressions and “predicted future”…

The Club was founded 1989. Bulldogok are four times Hungarian national champion, all after 1998, and most recently they defended their throne from 2009-2011. They have outstanding results in CEE Rugby Cup: 15-10 loss to Romanian Super-Liga side Timisoara, 3-out-of-3 wins against Czech Top6 Dragon Brno and 2 wins and 2 defeats against Czech Champion Ricany.
They have many capped players, the national team sported 15 of their players in the match day 22 against Norway in June (12 starters). Last season European U20 Championship runner-up team sported 11 Bulldogok players (lost in the final to Lithuania 15-11).
Two most famous players are Miklos Dobai and Robert Deli, both 50+ caps, the former being selected since mid-90’s (absent from the national team in the early 2000’s).
Match day squad includes only one international player, Ukrainian Vasyl Glushenko, prop forward to the current Six Nations Ukraine team, and heading to French Div2 Montauban after Autumn season.
Team Captain is the 22-year old Laszlo Janotka known for his effective kicking, and wit compared to his gentle age. Biggest future prospects are fly-half Jonathan Katona, 18, who has been scanned by Premiership Sale Sharks, scrum-half Gergo Ban, 21, also on radar at Montauban, and center Gergo Gaspar, 24, who spent the Spring season at Spanish top flight Valencia.
Their coach is Vyacheslav Kuzmenko, from Ukraine, 40+ caps in the Soviet Union, ex national coach of Hungary and Switzerland.
President and youth director is Sandor Toth, coach of U18 and U16 club teams that have been age grade champions in the last 6-7 years continuously.
