In the inaugural CEE/SEE matchup for the FIRA-AER European Club Trophy, Energy Cup Champions Baia Mare make a convincing advantage at the Split leg of the Finals.
Baia Mare scored 2 tries apiece in both halves of the game in Split where Reginal Rugby Championship (a tournament sporting sides from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia) winner Nada played host to the double Romanian champions.
Scoring four was a great accomplishment over the hosts in a game played on deep ground objecting the open attacking style of the guests. However, Nada only managed to kick in a penalty, and the final score was 3-22.
Second leg of the Trophy Finals is played next Saturday in Baia Mare (10am CET) with the hosts having a superb chance to lift their third silverware this year after winning the Energy Cup and the Romanian Championship earlier. They have also earned a berth in their domestic Cup Final which is due on December 4th in Bucuresti.
