Zagreb players had a field day on Saturday in a game against young Bosnian team. Hosts started ferociously, breaking the defensive line time after time. Brave Rudar’s defence couldn’t hold Zagreb out for too long and soon the floodgates opened. The return of stalwart servants of Zagreb rugby, Pomper and Gomuzak in the back row gave Zagreb the edge but the team as a whole looked hungry for points.

In the second half after tactical substitutions and blooding of the young and upcoming Zagreb players the tempo dropped and more mistakes were made in the defence. Guests never gave up and their efforts were rewarded with 15 points in the second half. Rudar can be proud of the spirit in which they played.

Zagreb’s achilles heel was the scrum and the main problem in the team is the lack of front five players. Rudar had advantage in the scrums and they could have exploited it more.

The new/old Zagreb’s coach Luka Marin can be satisfied with the progress of the team but there is still a lot of room for improvement.
